Dear boys and gentleman,
There are many things I think that are necessary in a relationship like loyalty, humour and trust but your ability to handle adversity is key. Say your partner has a bad day at work/school, you guys get into an argument or whatever bump in the road, you have to be able to handle it properly. Whether it’s by a heart to heart talk, a long full hug, a kiss on the lips or whatever it takes to calm them down and make them happy. Obviously this is a two way street and they will do it up for you as well, but you definitely have to rise to the occasion when the opportunity arises. Life can get a little crazy sometimes but you need to take it in and show you can handle your business. Anyone can steer the ship when the sea is calm but it takes a real captain to get the ship through the storm.

He says he wants me to treat him like a friend and thats it because he isnt ready right now for a relationship, but then he treats me like his girlfriend when it is a convenience for him. but then other times treats me like he barely knows me. I am so mad tonight because i leave for break tomorrow to go back home and he didnt even make an effort to see me tonight and then says he might stop by but never texts me to let me know. im annoyed because i just want him to grow up already. he doesnt know what his future holds with a job and everything, but right now i dont even care about that. i just want to be with him and i will help him figure that stuff out. his family even says that i am not just someone that comes over occasionally, they all say that i am part of their family and that is so nice i just wish that he would step up a little. im just hurt because it feels like he doesnt care. but i love him and cant let him go

People need to be encouraged. People need to be reminded of how wonderful they are. People need to be believed in—told that they are brave and smart and capable of accomplishing all the dreams they dream and more. Remind each other of this.
